Help! 2008 civic (running)headlights stay on
Help! 2008 civic (running)headlights stay on
I hope someone has seen this before!
2008 Civic (Canadian model) headlights are staying on when the car's shut off.
Car had not been driven in 2-3 days. I 'may' have left the headlights on.
Battery was stone dead. Brought it back to life and went for a drive.
When I parked it, I noticed the headlights were on. (Canadian cars have daytime running lights, equivalent to a weak low beam).
Ignition was off. Taillights are NOT on.
Does anyone know where the DRL relay is on the 2008?
Ideas?
Thanks

Re: Help! 2008 civic (running)headlights stay on
I have this exact problem on 2008 Civic EX. The DRL stayed on or came on and ran the battery dead. Had to pull the two low beam headlight fuses to turn them off. Battery charged OK and car runs, just no DRL or low beam lights.
Did anyone solve this issue with Day Time Running Lights?

Not sure if the drl module is separate on those cars, it was on the older ones. See if there's a separate drl fuse as well
Re: Help! 2008 civic (running)headlights stay on
Pulling the DRL fuse had no effect. The DRL lights stayed on. Only pulling low beam head light fuse turned them off.
There have been some issues reported with the MICU (Multiplex Control Unit) that is under dash and and has fuse block integrated in. But not DRL always on issue.
Thanks for your reply and any other suggestions welcome. I can't even find a source to purchase a MICU from.
