Unbelievably tight screw

Im taking off the cover of the stock filter box.. all the screws are coming off easy exept one in the back.. i put all my weight and every last muscle into it but it wont budge. When the others come loose there is a *click* sound, then it becomes loose.. if i could only get this one to click like the others. Anyone have any ideas of how to get it off?

That happened to me too; but when i was trying to take apart the centre consol dash trim so that i could paint it. I tried a screw driver and a socket wrench. But it wouldnt budge at all. After about an hour of screwin with it, i finally gave up. It f**ken pisses me off that i couldnt find a way to unscrew it.

try some penetrating oil. that'll help loosen the screw/bolt.

put the socket on a breaker bar and tap it lightly with a hammer. if you do it too hard you will snap the head off and then you'll be ****ed, or if you have enough room you can slide some tubing over the breaker bar and gain some leverage. (cheater bar)

An electric Makita works pretty well to remove the air filter box screws/bolts. They are 8 mm. Try not to use an air ratchet or something heavy-duty - too much torque will crack the plastic.

The center consol is very tight. I had a car audio store put my deck in and I think they purposely tightened those screws so I'd have to come back to them to change my deck. I evenually got the screw out with some muscle.

i managed to get the first one off. It came off really easy. But the other screw (on the right) won't even budge.

ALWAYS put grease on the screw when you screw it back on....this way, it will be easier next time around.

Purchase a tube of Anti-cease, spefically made for keeping bolts not overly tight. Especially if you are liek me and like to have titanium fastners you need it :-)

Wierd i had the same problem with my air box.... Quick someone call honda and tell them there torque machine is set to high for that one bolt
