Bad Sound When Braking

Lately, my car (2002 EX Automatic), has been giving me trouble in the braking dept. Whenever I come to a stop and press a little harder than usual on the brakes (but nowhere near hard enough to engage ABS), when the car slows down and nears a stop, I hear this groaning sound coming from the front wheels and there's a slight, slight trembling in the brake. It stops fine, that noise is just really not music to my ears?

My friend said I might need new rotors, but I don't have a history of slamming the brakes more than like twice over the past year I've had the car.

Any suggestions?

You need to resurface the rotors. If it's under warranty, the dealership will do it at no-cost.

i doubt honda will cover rotors since they're wear and tear. it's not very expensive to resurface your rotors, or even replace them.

They have done it for people i know. However, i think the brake warranty is up to 12,000 miles.

Well that makes sense.

I'm at 12,100 miles.
