Question maintenance required light?

Every time that i start the car this yellow light just above the speedometer comes on that says maintenance required. The light flashes for about 30 seconds and then it goes off and i don't see it again until i start the car. Is this because she knowns that its time for another oil change or is it something else. Any info is appreciated

yes, it is becuz of oil change. it will keep flashing when u start the car for a while. after a couple of days/weeks it wont just flash anymore, it will stay on the whole time even while ur driving. theres a way to reset it but i forgot, its in the civic manual.

I think if you remove the neg. on your battery for 15 secs, it will reset itself.

no, it has nothing to do w/ the battery. look at the manual. u have to hold that little button on ur speedometer/odemeter while ur key is set to accesory i think. i think u have to hold it for like 15-30 seconds... but like i said before, read ur manual for the instructions.

with the tripometer in the odometer mode...(mileage shows)
hold the trip button down
turn the key to the #2 position
hold until almost all of the lights go out
then turn the key to the #0 position
release the trip button
all done...now start the car...no more light!!
