My car has 45,000 miles and couple weeks ago I changed the front brakes. Today on the way to work my ABS light came on. I didn't look under the hood to check the brake fluid yet. I don't know what could it be. The brakes work fine.
I think that either it is low brake fluid, or a sensor gone bad.
Any ideas??????

no this is a random, electrical type problem.
if you shut the car off and turn it back on the abs will often work.
if you pull the fuse and pop it back in the abs will often work..

What a freak little car! I took both of the front wheels off on Saturday and unpluged the abs sensors (Orange connectors just inside the wheel lip), plugged them back in, and the ABS light STAYS ON.
Later that day it went out and it's been out ever since...
Someone call the exorcist...

the only things i can think about causing this problem could be
1. Lose sensor somewhere
2. low brake fluid(well mine is low)
3. low abs fluid
4. malfuntioning abs unit

#1 rule on repairng cars is...... Replace the cheepest part first.
so, First i'd check the fuses, then check the fluid, then take it to the dealer ship because if it is the ABS unit, you wont beable to fix it at home.....
HondaLuver, there is no "ABS fluid", the whole brake system is tied together and then ABS unit is just a series of Valves and pumps that kick in when the computer tells them to...
question... when you turn on the car, does the ABS unit sound like its pumping? if it is then you may have gotten air in to the unit. and that would kick off the ABS light.

i checked the brake fluid, and all the abs fluid. i actually looked at the brake fluid amount and it wasn't low, haha it looked like it though, any ways, i tried to listen to the abs unit and it didn't make any sounds. i think it might be either the abs unit or there is a lose line some where, where i usually park there are spots of fluid on the floor and it looks like brake fluid.
its from the front of the car. so im going to take off my rims and check all the abs lines

Holy crap....this just happend to me this morning. All I did was stop on some snow. Didnt even do anything different like slam the brake or anything because there wasnt anything around me. I need to go out and check whats up with it.

i found out why i got a abs light, i just got some new rims and i checked all the abs sensors, and i found that the rear left brake sensor was off, so there was a missing bolt that held it in place. maby i was lose when i got disc brakes back there... humm, another one solved by me
i dont know if this will help or not but when ever i am feeling a little crazy and want to pretend like i have a rear wheel drive car so i can go drifting/ powersliding in a dirt parking lot all i do is go really fast and turn the wheel eithe rright or left and then pull up the e-brake and the rest is the fun part. but after doing this the abs light came on for awhile but then turned itself off so i think that it might have been one of the sensors that had gotten dislodged slightly and then after the last powerslide it reset itself. hope this helps
