clicking noise when turning....

i don't know much about cars, but when i turn left, i hear a sort of clicking noise. i don't even have to be turning sharp or going fast. before i take it to some mechanic who might lie and replace a buttload of stuff that doesn't need to be replaced just cause i'm a girl, can anyone tell me what it might be?

do you have aftermarket springs? if not, take it to your dealer-- it's a common defect with the 2001+ civics. probably just a bad bearing ring.

Here are a couple of threads that members posted concerning the clicking noise that you're hearing:

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...clicking+noise

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...clicking+noise

Use the search function on this website to find more info on the clicking noise. I typed in "clicking noise" and found the two threads listed above. There are many more posts, but I didn't have time to look through all of them.
Hope everything works out and make sure you know, or at least have a good idea, of what the problem is before you take your car in to be fixed.

I guess each address I used to link you to the threads were invalid. Sorry, about that.

Just go to the search function and type in "clicking noise" or any words pertaining to what you are hearing. The two threads that I wanted you to read will be on the first page of the list.

umm.....I remember a couple of topics already on the civics having strut problems and manufacturers knowing it. If you take it to your dealer and that is what it is, they will replace it for free, probably even if not under warrenty.....

thanks guys, i'm going to go ahead and take it in, but first, should i take the strut bar off first in case it voids the warranty or does that not have anything to do with it?

you sure it's not the mechanism that clicks in the dash while you're turning the wheel while the signal's on?

You know what? I went to the dealer about this problem and they lubed something and the noise went away for a while, but it's back again. It's one click when i turn backwards towards the left. The Honda dealer told me that it's normal on civics... =/ hope nothing is wrong with my car

i am having the same dam problem.. i replaced my struts (koni) and now when stopped or going there is a clunkling/clicking noise, its scary sounding..almost seems to be going so long with a blown strut that it could possibly be the steering rod or steering box.. does that make sense? im not about to go to the dealer bcuz i have to take my springs out & my wheels off... can anyone make anyother suggestions??? thanks

Yep..same problem here...Dealer told me that they don't know what the noise is and tried to blame it on the upper strut bar not letting the stuts have any play/give....BS...It was doing it before I put the Neuspeed on... P brains.....I think it has something to do with the steering linkage

yea, same here, the noise was there BEFORE i put in my neuspeed strut bar too. Dunno what it is, but oh well, as long as the wheel dont fall of or anything, i think it should be ok. Or I'll sue them and get a new accord v-6 six speed. heh heh heh
