Problem with my moon roof?
Well as I posted last week I traded in my 2K1 vic for a 02 SI HB. Yesterday the weather was really nice here in Cincinnati(45 degrees) and I drove around all day with my windows down and moon roof open. When I went home and closed my moon roof, it stoped half way and I had to let go of the switch and press it again to get it to close all the way. I called my Honda dealership I bought it from and talked to service. The guy I talked to was like "yeah that happened to one I tried once, but I don't really know if thats suppose to happen. I guess so." Yeah I've got some really smart ones working on hondas here. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it normal? If it is it isn't a big deal, I just want to know if its suppose to do that. Thanks.

Sounds like there's a problem with the switch. Intermittent contact or something. Go in and tell them to change the switch and see if it fixes it.

If that is the only time that it has happened, I would forget about it. If it starts happening on a regular basis, then you may have a problem.
Hondas act up sometime and then never act up again. I haven't quite figured that one out but hey...

Just found out on another forum that the moon roofs on the 02 and up SI HB does stop half way when closign and you have to press the button once again to close it all the way. That sucks. Anyother SI HB owners notice this?
I have no problems with my moon roof... coz I aint got one!
I wish I had one.
I wish I had one. Yeah-
I have a '02 Si and that is normal for the moonroof to do that. I'm highly agitated by it.
I don't know if the guys on ephatch.com ever came up with a solution for it or not...but
I know there's a post for it. Check me out on that forum

My girlfriend's Geo Prizm does the same thing. Stops half way when closing, and then you have to hit the button again to close it all the way. I don't really understand it.

I had that same problem with my 94 civic ex coupe's sunroof. No big deal...Just stop in the middle and reclick the button.
There is no problem with your switch. The contact is fine if you are able to re-close the moonroof. Your problem is the moonroof track that needs lubrication. The reason behind this is that there is a safety cut if the motor senses resistance when closing or opening the roof. Just put some grease along the side of the moonroof and you're fine. If you read your manual, this is normal for all cars with roof. There is also a manual override if your moonroof decide not to close. Just temporary use the tools that came with your car to manually close the roof.
