Trunk won't stay shut!

I installed some fat mat in my trunk, and I am working on a fiberglass sub encl. But, when I went to shut my trunk it closes. When I pulled up to see if it was staying shut and it popped open. No matter what I do it still will open back up. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you put any of that stuff in the trunk lid? If you did, you might be pushing against the wire for the trunk release. If you look at the left hinge of the trunk lid, you will see a wire clipped to the side and snaking into the trunk lid. Make sure that wire is not being restricted. Start there and see if it helps. Also pull on the trunk release by the front seat and see if the resistance has changed.
