FrieD clutCH!!!

well i was on my way to my apartment. i was in 5th gear cruising around 70-75. i was bored so then i pressed the clutch, and pulled out of 5th gear and into neutral. I was sticking it into 3rd and 4th for fun, and attepted to stick it into first. knowing that it wouldnt, (still having my foot on the clutch) I then stuck it back into 5th. Once i stuck it back into 5th i felt my clutch to be a little on the heavier side. I know i didnt do anything wrong because i still had my foot on the clutch the whole time; so then i take my usual exit. this exit kinda sucked cause it was on a pretty steep incline. i downshifted to 4th and 3rd(still feeling something weird about the clutch.) i came to a stop, and when the light turned green, i stuck my car back into first and eased off the clutch.. But then the clutch didnt catch and i kept sliding backwards.. i didnt know what was wrong so i tried it again..stil the same. i smell my clutch as i burned the crap out of it as i try to accelerate... nothing worked so then i called a towtruck and i had it towed to my house...whut a bad night i hope i have a manufactur warranty on my clutch....

Your clutch isn't warranted. If it has to be replaced, they'll only replace it if they see it's a defect but if you've got enough miles on your car and you've been riding your clutch a lot then you might just end up spending the extra $300 just to replace it.

Well, even with the clutch disengaged it still rubs a bit on the flywheel. So I'm thinking...shifting down will make the clutch spin faster while the flywheel is spinning slower. Therefore, that little bit of rub is increased for every gear lower you go.
