Rice Krispies

Who here likes Rice Krispies? I do. Anyways, has anyone ever noticed a crackling sound coming from the front of their Civic just after you start moving? I seem to be getting this sound and it seems to be coming from the engine compartment almost right as I come off idle and then dissapears after a second or two. Anyone know what I talking about? I have an auto BTW and yes this is a serious question.

Thanks

Mine also does, but only when it is cold out. I thought it was stuff just warming up and cracking ice or something.

I got that sound checked out at my local Honda delearship. They said it was some ball bearing that just needed to be greased.

I get it "greased" every visit, but then it comes back as soon as I get home or the next day. Make me look like a fool when I try to tell them at the dealership. Witchcraft I say! Witchcraft!

yea i know what you're talking about.... i used to have that problem but when i went to go get my brakes redone... they seem to have done something to solve the problem cuz it doesn't happen anymore... not sure if it's in direct correlation to the brakes cuz my car made the popping noise when i braked... but yea, have you had your pads and resurfacing???

i have a questions, its it like a metal click sound because everytime you change from reverse to drive or the opposite it lifts up the brakes then the first time you push on the it brings it down and makes that metal click sound, one of my friends it does it on most cars you usually can hear it...

yeah do you have stick?
mine does that when i am leaving my garage. my driveway is up hill so when i come out im coming out on to a hill. i live in apartment so that why. yeah my garages warm, so its because its no because of the cold. it only happens when i am clutching and gasing up that small hill.

yes, i do warm my car evey time i leave so thats not why either. its minor, but i was thinking about it today.

I have an 2002 EX Coupe with about 9k on it. Im just wondering what this sound is. Maybe from the intake manifold? Valve chatter? Any other ideas where this crackling noise might be coming from?

I hear that sound too. My friend says it has something to do with water traveling the heater core or something

Thats kinda what it sounds like, water flowing/crackling. I was checking on it tonight and it seems to be the most audible around 1500-2000 rpms. Weird.

I can't tell where mine's coming from, it sounds like it's coming from the dash near the passenger side. It's close to the windsheild but even if you push down on the dash it still rattles so I know it's not the dash itself.
