Went in for service

Okay, I go in for service to the Honda dealer where I bought my car, because my auto-down window switch wasn't working properly. I would press it and it would go down about 3 inches and stop, etc. And my driver seat was also rocking back and forth. The guy sprays a lube (wd-40) in my window "Channel" and says that will fix it. He said since it doesnt do it every time that they cant fix it, even though he saw it do it. Also, he looked at my seat and basically told me its normal. I dropped my car off and they took about 2 hours to look at it, and said that the seats always move...WTF. Im kinda mad because the seat shouldn't move when you brake. What should I do? ThAts not normal, is it?????

Thanks,
ELi

Take it to the dealer and they will fix your rocking driver's seat without question.

I believe Honda has issued a recall for the rocking seat(s) in our 7th gen Civics. Your Honda dealer is required to fix your seats at no cost to you. Don't let them screw you around. Take it back and get it fixed.

Tell them it's not fine, and you AREN'T an idiot. neither one of those things should be happening and they should have fixed both. especially if you just got the car. insist they fix it. Honda has earned a good name over the years and lazy service managers like that ruin their rep. If they don't fix it take it to another deal that will.

I for one hate when they say somethings normal but honda has a recall or bulletin out on it. Honda has emitted there is a problem with their product and the dealer don't agree. WHAT??? doesn't sound right to me.

The TSB is for 2001 Civic EX's and I have a 2002 Civic EX. Does that matter? Plus its posted in 2001 before my car was even made!

The other dealer is worse than this one, this one is nice but the service kinda sux. LOL

I think the SB will be fine for the '02.

Anyhow, some of these problems aren't as common as this site makes them seem to be. Some dealers will not have any experience with some of these issues and will truthfully know nothing about them.

Best thing to do is to take a copy of the SB with you when you take the car in.

I am going to go for my first warranty repair in 10 yrs of ownership to get my rocking seat fixed. I have been going to the same honda dealer for 6-7 yrs now. I am going to take a copy of the SB but am going to keep it in me pocket to see what my service writer says first.
