Dealer says "It's Normal"....

So I went to the honda dealer the other day they were really helpful and quick. First off my maintanence required light was blinking when I first started my car, then turned off. They told me that I had to reset everytime I did an oil change. THen I said this is the first time the light has come on, besides the 8,000 mile reset(I think its 8 thou), but I have done all my oil changes and have about 17,000 miles on my civic. He said oh ok... Then I asked about a little oil spewing in through the breather hose "PCV tube" (Thanks CIM) they said that this was normal, and then I asked if I should wipe it out, he said if I have the chance. I am kinda scared to let any oil get into my throttle body. ANy responses?

A little oil is normal for the PCV system. What the PCV is suppose to do is allow unburned gases to return back into the combustion chamber. If its an eccessive amount of oil then I would be concerned.

if oil leaks are excessive that might be a sign of a backpressure inside the engine w/c is bad

yes that IS totally normal, its an emmissions thing, it takes gases(gasses meaning air pressure build up) in the crank case, and diverts them to the intake and combustion chamber where it can be burned and cleanly released into the atmosphere, often, a small amount of oil is in the tube, theres nothing to worry about.. PCV stands for Pressurized(?) Crankcase Ventilation
