How long has it been since you've used the heat? If you don't use the heat for a while, you will notice that there is a smell to it, just for a few seconds. If it is something that continues though, you probably need to have it checked out. Also, like others have said, check the CABIN AIR FILTER

I got the same problem. I solve it by turning down the heat, but I guess it's not really a fix. If you ever do get a good response to your question, please PM me. The smells pisses me off.

i asked the dealer once about this kinda odor.. everytime i turn on the A/C

they said.. "it is normal.. juz the bactery on ventilation.. not covered under warranty..
if u want to get it fixed.. it gonna cost u AU$350 for labour cost."

It's mildew(sp?) people. I don't know if you want it to be a big problem or something wrong with the car or what. If it really bothers you that much, you can try spraying lysol into the vents at the bottom of the windsheild (exterior) while you have the heat/ac running full-blast. This will suck the lysol through the pathways and hopefully kill the bacteria. You could maybe even try some febreze.
