Maint light at ~16,500?

The maint req'd light flipped on at 16,000-16,700 miles is that normally? I know it comes on at 8000 and then sometime later, but I did some searching around I didn't see anything for 16,000 miles.

Thanks for any help.

if it isn't scheduled to come on at that time ... the computer might be getting a reading for something that is malfunctioning. Just bring it into the dealer and they will hook it up to their computer to figure out what code the car is indicating. For instance, on my '99 accord the maintanence light came on at about 20 000km something. Basicallly, when I brought it in the o2 sensor went on it ... they just replaced it due to the fact that it was under warranty.

Ok...umm...I wasn't thinking earlier and just reset it. Now that I reset it and cleared the comp I'm probably going to have to wait to see if it comes on again. If it does then I'll take it into the shop I guess. I can take it to any Honda dealer, right? The light it suppose to come back on at 20k, correct?

Thanks

Yeah, I'm nearly at 17K on mine and no maintenance required light yet.

Yah I'd never reset it myself unless I was sure that it came on becuase of the regular scheduled maintanence. Like you said the best you can do is hope it comes on again ... also ... if it dont then just mention it to the Honda guy when you bring it in for the next oil change ... maybe the comp stores it in memory or something ...

Mine just went on at 13100, which sounds kinda like a strange interval. Do they run the computer on it for free? Or are they gonna charge me for diagnostics?

They should do it for free, unless they're jerks or something. It should be covered under warrenty unless you broke the warrenty some how or caused the problem.
