yes its probably the first time its come on huh?.. at about 8,000 miles or so should be the first time it comes on. yeah just get your oil changed if you need it. if not refer to your manual on how to shut it off..

in the manual that comes with the car it says that the light will come on at 8,000 miles to 10,000 miles and when you bring it to the dealer for a tune up they will shut it off, i just broke 8,000 myself and it happened to me. it will happen again from 10,000 to 12,000 miles.

yea . . . its due for maintenance. when i went to my mechanic he said it was just a basic oil change and lubin up of certain parts on the car. nothing major. when its starts flashing it's warning you that it's due real soon. my mechanic reseted the maintenace thing. better get it done to b safe.

I have a quick question about this too, my car was flashing the maint req'd light for a while, then all of a sudden my engine light came on, and it's still on. Could that be just because I am overdue for an oil change? I am really overdue, I think.

check engine light came on...no good...bring it to dealer..cause i know that teh main't req light is based on the odometer....so every certain distance it turns on... i dun think it's connected to and sensors or anything... just the check engine light is the important one
