1. my right side m3 signal mirror shakes while the car is moving. I can still see out of it but it just bugs me to look over there and see it rattling.

2. angle of the center console. I put in a Sony M650 head unit and its angled up and away from me so it's hard to read the player.

3. front license plate frame

4. that the engine is crammed into the front of the engine bay, so that its tough to move around in there when working on the engine.

Seats uncomforable - too hard, not ergonomic

Rattles in center posts (Sedan)

Requires 5w20 oil (and self-service oil changes not recommended per owner's manual)

Somewhat overpriced compared to similar cars in segment especially considering the flaws and bugs

Considering the price, could use more windshield tinting

Too light (but gets good mileage and does well in crash tests)

Metal too thin gauge

People in New England don't get the Canadian (cold weather) edition, just the USA (warm weather) edition

But it it a well designed car overall. I don't dislike it.

clutch squeak which still isn't fixed...
the fact that the windshield squirters leave about 80% of the windshield fluid all over the hood instead of the windows...
my trunk isn't flat (dips in at one end)...
rough ride...

one thing I love though, is the locks on the back seats and the trunk flap. I know it's annoying, but think about it. If your car ever gets broken into and you have your trunk flap locked (like I always keep it), it makes it very difficult for your system (other than your deck) to get jacked. Sure, if someone REALLY wanted it they would get it, but just adds to the hassle.

Front plate. Dont need in AZ.

the hood prop. didnt used to be on the side and hold it open alot higher?

no power lock on the passenger side....wife always tells me to lock the doors

sunroof control hard to find. either the steering wheel or my knee blocks it. should be on the roof.

little things though... I love my car

nothing annoys me.. after having to drive a LUMINA for a week since i had a minor wreck i love every thing about my civic...

except the front bumper plate thing,
when someone sits in the back seat i'll have to spend 2 mins readjusting the seat for the "perfect fit" after they leave..

that's about it

OK, I guess it is time to gripe... Let's see... I have some annoyances. Here they go:

1). Need for a telescopic steering wheel. To properly fit in the front seat, I have to have the seat almost to the last position. Feel like I am so far away from the steering wheel.
2). D*mn cra@@y short and narrow armrest. For additional width, the Zeta help solve this.
3). Sometimes feel the car could be a slight more hefty for improved ride quality, better stability for highway driving and bumps in road. D@mn, I would then need more HP.
4). Lessen the amount of road noise that enters the cabin.
5). Remote release for the trunk!

I guess at this stage, I need to buy an Accord
... j/k. I really like my Civic. It just is fun to gripe at times.

Some more:

Wheel hop when going over bumps...
Wandering feeling on the highway...
That haze that keeps forming over and over and over again on the windows no matter how many times I clean them! (9mo.)

Well there are a couple things now that you mentioned it. A couple being the things you mentioned. I haven't quite figured out those weird *** patterns on the seats either. For that matter, the seats to me are horribly uncomfortable... oh and the dashboard is rather large. I used to own a camaro where the dash was flat all the way across. And me, being only 5'4" has a little trouble seeing over the dashboard. ha, anyways we won't go there.

ok ok. i love my civic but i gotta complain/ it's sad that i buy a honda and 4 months later i have complaints

1. the rattling (sedan) when driving over bumps. it's everywhere! i mean on the right side of the dashboard, side panels, rear area by windows. they come and go and its so irritating. as if the car doesnt have a good suspension anyway.
2. the little small gap on my dash kit for my cd player making this little dip in the kit where it doesnt run parallel, probably warped from the heat produced from the cd player.
3. to avoid the two screw rear liscense plate thing, i put some foam behind the plates so it doesnt band when others slam the trunk.
4. all the doors on my car slam ok but the one behind the passenger door doesnt. it makes a hollow clunky noise unlike all of the other 3 doors when i slam them

i have learned to love my ride though. its not like i am going to let these problems go, only 2800 miles so when i get my oil change at honda, i am going to tell them all my complaints so that they can take care of them since we all have a factory warranty. as for the dash kit, i am gonna buy another one and have best buy put it in.

Small things that bug me:

No unlock switch on the passenger's door.
The freakin' air vents won't stay in the position I put them in.

OK THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who couldnt get the dam air vents to stay where I want them...the one i notice the most is on the left of the steering wheel. I was thinking about telling the dealer to fix it.
The Brakes grabbing when braking going down a hill, that pisses me off too.
Of course, the pointless armrest that doesnt nothing but i cant stand to put it up. I rest my elbow on it...
No trunk release button on keyless entry and no unlock switch on the passenger door.
I also wish the sunroof would go back more...seems like there is more room but probably not.

Don't get me wrong, i LOVE my car and I cant wait till I have money to actually do stuff to it.

PS- Is the Zeta wide armrest really worth $80?

i hate the fact that to move the mirror, i have to move forward, that is pointless because then i have to sit back and then move forward again if it isnt in the right place, needs to be in a better place for when your seat is reclined

the license plate thing in the front

the lock on the rear seats

the way the glove box closes (or doesnt look closed all the way, i should say)

the pattern on the seats

my left side of my horn sticks out further then the right side

Fogging of the windows

wheel hop / tail end skipping about = crappy suspension

crappy stock firestones

weak A/C

POS shifter assembly/transmission

lack of power / high revs on the highway = anemic D17 engine

But, it does look damn great even if there are way too many of them on the roads now.

Besides all the complaints already listed,

Not only having to always reset the passenger seat to the right position after you push it forward, also the drivers seat not being able to be pushed forward at all like the passenger seat.
Only having a pocket on the back of one of the seats.
And if you've ever looked under the stock spoiler, they have the really cool Civic logo imprinted into the material like on the back of integras. I Want That Some Place Visible! I think it looks really good.

I guess that's about it for now

lol theres a long thread on that problem somewhere if you search, think you touch the window or something before you exit the car.

Cons
There is no light on the mirrors on the left and right sunblockers.
car gets dented/rock chips easily!

Pros
the metal bar on the bottom of the seatbelt thing, so the seatbelt can move around and the passengers in the back can get out easier! (coupe) Friend commented on that, he has a 4thgen hatch.

Let me try to help you!

1) the license plate frame on the front bumper, since i dont need a front license plate, i have that frame showing on the bumper, it annoys me.

- remove the front license plate frame and plug the holes.

2) the wierd *** patterns on the EX seats, why do they have those? i heard that the other models have better patterns, or no patterns at all, why did honda put the patterns on the highest model?

- I'm going to have to agree on this. The 2door EX's had some funny seats.. one of the reasons why I got the Sedan.

3) no lock on the glove box, but a lock on the back seat ( for folding the seat down ), right, nice compromise eh?

- The lock on the back is so you can give your valet key to anyone and they can't get to the trunk. So I guess.. anything important, put in the trunk. Don't leave anything you need to lock up in the glove compartment.

4) the sunroof controls, i hate leaning forward while driving to mess with the sunroof, they should have been closer to the driver, like where the vanity lights are, or the center

- True for some people, not true for others. Maybe my arms long as hell, but I have no problems. Your seats too back? I don't know.

All the above are reasons why i traded my civic in for a my P5.

1. Rumbling sound under car when driving through rain.
2. Rear suspension bounces REAL high when going over speed bumps < 5km/h.
3. Pay 16-17k CAD $ for 14" steelies
4. Shitty tires.
5. No power anything on a dx.
6. No color matching mirrors/mouldings
7. When air is switched to defrost position can't turn off A/C.
8. When going at speeds excess of 120km/hr car feels unsteady.
9. Steering is way too sensitive.
10. No standard ABS.
11. CD player EXTRA
12. Rear Drum brakes suck.
13. No lock on glove compartment.
14. No Standard Child Safetly restraints.
15. Windows always foggy. Unless you use a/c.
---------------------------------------------------

Stuff my Protege 5 outdoes my 2k1 Civic.

1. 16" Alloys
2. Standard ABS
3. Power Everything
4. 4 Wheel Discs
5. Lock on Glovebox.

As for 5,10 and 11, gotta get a higher trim than the DX.

As for the A/C, there's a DIY on how to turn it off.
