you mean this problem?
I'm having that issue with my car. Some members have said it was due to an aftermarket exhaust.
I still don't know what i should do about it

I have this problem with my 2002 civ. Why does the tsb only mention 2001 civics
I read through the older thread but couldn't figure out if it was just 2001 owners???

i'm pretty sure it's an exhaust pipe problem. The TSB applies to all 7thgen civics...
...the problem may be that exhaust pipe B is hitting the body. Cold water splashing on to the pipe can cause thermal shock, temporarily changing the pipe's shape and causing it to hit the the body. To fix this problem, replace exhaust pipe B with P/N 18220-S5D-A12, H/C 6693212. The replacement pipe has a different shape to compensate for thermal shock.
I guess the person who did my piping didn't route the pipes the EXACT same way as the stock setup. Taking my car to the dealer isn't an option since I don't have a factory B pipe
Patience pays off... sometimes.
I was at my Honda dealership last week for regular maintenance (32,000 km) and for a 2nd time in a year, mentioned this growling noise I was experiencing sometimes when driving through rain/slush puddles. The technician called Honda Canada's Helpline and they're shipping a replacement exhaust pipe for my '01 LX (Canada).
I'll report back once it's in to say if it fixes the problem on my car.

what we need to do is get one of those new pipes and find out how it differs in shape and get our aftermarket companies to issue the same recall. they did take the shape from the original shape from honda anyway.
fyi/update - I had my exhaust pipe b replaced on warranty this morning for this vibration problem, and while it's too early to say if it solves the problem, I did want to inform everyone that the repacement part mentioned in March 2002 Honda ServiceNews bulletin available from NHTSA (p/n 18220-s5d-a12, h/c 6693212) has been replaced by a more recent part, which is what my dealer installed this morning. Sorry! I don't have the part number and don't know what the difference is with the previous replacement part, but I just thought I'd let everyone know.

i just sent this to maganflow, i suggest other to do the same with all the other exhaust companies... we need to take action NOW!
hi there, i'm a very satisfied customer of your catback exhaust and would like to raise a problem with your product on my car. i drive a honda 2001 civic ex coupe and there is an issue with the b-pipe vibrating and hitting against the car when driving over puddles in rain. this is a problem even the oem parts from honda had and a TSB was posted about it for an altered b-pipe replacement.
TSB: http://www.nhtsa.gov/TSBScans/sb631006-sb631014.pdf
well from what i've read on the message forums on 7thgencivic.com, the problem is in the shape of the b-pipe and when rapid cooling occurs, it creates a vibration. now i assume that the design of the b-pipe of your product is modelled after the previous non-altered version of honda's oem b-pipe? since honda will not fix it for me since i have an aftermarket exhaust, i hope your company will find a fix for this and let me know if any parts are in need for replacement. there are others i know with this very same problem with the magnaflow exhaust so i will let them know your reply. i hope you will keep good customer service/relations unlike (disappointing) honda.
thank you.
