[hr]Honda Motor Co. is recalling 52,297 Civic compact cars, including more than 8,200 in the United States, produced last year for faulty fuel-pipe tubing.
Also recalled were 100,571 vehicles involving 19 models sold in Japan for weak bolts that were manufactured earlier this year.
Some of the models, including the Civic and Accord compacts, were exported to the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and other nations. But Honda said it has yet to determine which models and how many exported vehicles need to be recalled.
Honda said 37 cases have been reported in Japan of the bolts that could break, possibly causing the wheel to fall off.[hr]

can someone verify this and tell me more about it...the descriptions are so vague...what model years does it affect?
yes i have heard about the fuel gauge before it was about a year ago. i got a letter from honda to bring my car in for a repair do to the fuel line. that is for the 2k1's. I dont know much about the 2k2's and up.
anyways, i looked up the 7th gen civic bulletins and recalls at alldata.com
only the 2001 civics were recalled.....2001 civics had 4 recall notices while 2002 civics had none...
btw, what's with the automatic tranny replacement program on hondas...i read that bulletin...are there that many dying trannys? they don't even give u a new tranny if yours die....they replace them with remanufactured ones...
another interesting thing i noticed was the fix for the wind noise problem...honda will use two rubber plugs to cover two holes on the frame...those plugs are supposed to be inserted during PDI checks...my dealer never inserted mine..they're still in my glove box....i had asked the dealer what the plugs are for and they gave me a totally different answer...service depts are always full of crap...they didnt' even install my license plates properly...
