I have a 2001 Honda Civic. Recently I have been hearing noises when I
press on the brake. It sounds like a "clunking" noise (like something
just fell out of front of the car).

When I first called Honda they told me that it was most likely the
suspension because the 2001 Civics are known to have faulty suspensions
and it most likely will have to be replaced. I went in and they told me
that it wasn't the suspension (not even looking at the car). They ended
up just tightening something which seemed to work for 2 months. Now the
noise it back. I called Honda again and the guy told me that this is a
"normal sound for the 2001 Honda Civics'". I told him I didn't think
so... and then I was asked "have you ever owned a Honda Civic before?".

So my question is: has anyone had problems (heard noises like this) from
their 2001 Honda Civic?

Tell him he's a moron. My brakes don't clunk, nor have any other one's I've heard...

Sounds to me the caliper may be loose or...as they originally said...it's a suspension problem.

wtf that makes me mad. f*** honda. it smells like a dealer. I have the same problem only mine comes with bent roters. I took mine to the dealer at first I told them about the clunking problem. I also told them when I step on the brake going about 70 mph it shakes. They came back and told me they would not fix it b/c it is illegle to go that fast in ohio.
