very doubtful that a tranny from a 6th gen will fit. if youre getting a new tranny, might as well get a 01. and since you have a 02, shouldn't this be covered under warranty?

they cant void your warranty....there is a law on this now, i think!....they can not void your warranty unless they can prove that any modifications done to your car is the cause of your tranny slipping or whatever is wrong with it......and the mods you do have are no way affiliated with your tranny!

well, i have a similar problem. i race the hell out of my car and right now i have about 52k on my 2k1 civic coupe 5sp DX. i am now searching for my 3rd transmission.(looking for an EX) a new one retail for $2082.00 this is for any 7th gen tranny (DX,LX,EX) this does NOT include shipping. ive found a couple listings from junk yards. they go for about 800-900 with shipping. just go to your local junk yard and ask them to put it on the national parts locator. the service is usually free. good luck..... wait till winter.... everyone crashes in New England.

by the way.....they WILL void his warranty. the warranty from Honda Care will not just replace the tranny. the service "experts" at your dealer know NOTHING about your car. what happens is they have to call in a warranty investigator from honda care. then they charge you a $500 tear down fee to remove your tranny and take it apart and investigate. if they even think you were racing it......VOID VOID VOID. its a waste of money and time. they almost always deny anyone with mods to the drivetrain. save your money..... and if you purchased and extended warranty from Honda Care... like me who paid $1599.00!!!! ...go to your dealer and get it refunded. (as long as you havent had any warranty repairs done to your car with them after the initial 36k mile factory warranty

They shouldn't void a warranty for bolt on parts. You can always add your original parts on and go to another dealer. Especially the wheels because that changes your gearing.

What alltech01civic is talking about is the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act . Unless you were racing...like CivicManDan stated, then you might be out of luck!! But you might want to email/contact someone at SEMA to get you pointed in the right direction!! Good luck

manual transmission failure of any kind r mostly come from abuse, most often the clutch and throw out bearing tend to get all the punishment,i told many ppl not to pop the clutch too much cus it will wear out the plates in no time.

What out of this voided the warranty? I could only see the Pulleys and maybe the rims (if they're really off the stock size) voiding the drivetrain... All the rest of it is just replacement bolt ons that shouldn't do anything at all in damaging the tranny. The drop obvously voids the suspension, but that really isn't the problem here. I can't see how an intake and an exhaust system could do much in the way of hurting the tranny. It would be really crooked if they can make the assumption that you're racing because you have better-than-stock parts. I don't plan on racing, but I plan on putting an exhaust on my car, I know I'd be pissed if they voided it on stupid assumptions like that. If you were in fact racing and beating on it, well....
