do you have a stick or auto? i have a stick and i sometimes get some intermittent clicking when i downshift to a stop. it's really faint. i can only hear it if the radio and air is off. it really doesn't bother me, but i'm going to tell the dealership when i take it in for my 10K service.

hey this has been posted a bunch, but i will help you out. the clicking is normal, well normal for our cars. it should click the first time you touch your brakes after going backwards and then forward and vice-versa. there is a space somewhere in the calipers, i believe and it is real tiny but the noise you hear is the sound of it clicking back into place. do a search is you want a better explanation, its been posted alot

Whats the point of downshifting to stop??? I just leave it in gear (usuauly 5th) then shift to neutral once the RPM's are about to die, sometimes I just shift to neutral and coast to the stop sign, why waste time shifting, it'll be harder on your trans because when you downshift the RPM's shoot up...

That's exactly what I do. After driving manuals for almost 9 years now, I prefer not to shift unless I have to. Plus, downshifting to slow the car down puts extra wear on your clutch and engine. It may not be a whole lot but over a 5 year period it's a lot of wear you could do with out. Also, brakes are a lot cheaper than clutches.
