Need help!!!!

well here's my story. I bought a 2001 civic last month. Had it for 12 hours and something goes wrong with the engine. Take it back to the dealer and they ship it to Honda. I find out it needs a new engine ( can't get a solid reason why, but I stoped at my mechanic before I went to the dealer and he said there wasn't any oil in it.) Since then I've been getting the run around. It's been a month now and I don't have my car back. Wanted to know if anyone knows a reasonable amount of time it takes to get and put in a new engine. Also, I have a lawyer, but before we take it further was wondering if anyone knows how to get in touch with a Honda rep or someone else to try and get this taken care of. Thanks....

I would make sure that your dealer knows how pi$$ed off you are. If they still don't help, then go with the lawyer.

Make sure you document everything with the honda dealer like times dates and people you've talked to then sue the bastards. There is absolutely no reason why there shouldn't of been oil in a new car. Good luck

Couple questions I have. First did you buy the car new or used (which is what I am guessing) Second why was there no oil in the car? Are they blaming that on you are taking responsiblity for this one? To drop a new engine it takes maybe a day. We have done engine swaps in less than a day and since they have access to every parts and tool they should be able to do it pretty quick. Make sure they tell you what they are doing. Make sure they tell you EVERYTHING!!!! Also get documentation of everything and give it to your attorney. If they tell you anything make them put it in writing. I am in the middle of a suit against Honda so I know how this all goes. You have to be a very persistant person or Honda Will **** on you. Your best bet as far as getting to Honda is first speak to the manager which I am assuming you have already. Next speak to the general manager. From there speak to the owner of where you bought the car. From there speak to the zone manager then call American Honda. The dealership should give you all of the numbers to all of those people. If they try to give you **** just stand your ground they will eventually learn that you are not going to back down and they will be a little nicer and a little more ready to help you. If you want to file an arbitration you have to get ahold of the BBB and start there. I don't know what state you are in but laws differ from state to state.

It was used. 14,000 miles ex 2dr 5 spd. The car was certified through the Mazda dealership where I got it. My mechanic said most likely they changed the oil and somehow forgot to put new oil in. This would make it Mazda's fault. The Honda dealership said that one of the cylinders wasn't getting oil and that's all he can tell from this point. The Mazda dealership wouldn't take blame for it and tried to turn it to me or Honda. The Honda dealership told me they were putting in a new engine, so I'm assuming they're taking fault. I've had enough with talking to different local people and getting no where, I've gone through managers at both, general managers, owners don't speak to us is what I was told. I called American Honda today and have a represenative looking into it. I've tried to be nice and patient with this but, it's now been close to a month and I've had enough. I figure this is the last straw and if nothing gets resolved in a week I'll move forward with my lawyer. oh and I live in Florida, not sure about the laws and hope I don't have to find out, but we'll see in a week.

Well I don't know about florida but here in cali there are a lot of steps you have to take and i can take up to 14 months. So right now I am kinda dealing with this sh!tty car. That kinda sucks but why did you buy a Honda from a Mazda dealership? How is Mazda going to say it was your fault if you only had the car for 12 hours? Did you immediatly tell them about the problem? My only thought is that there is a service bullitin issued by Honda about a leaky seal that was causing an oil leak so if I were you I would look into that.
