Air conditioner filter source?

Looked at my air conditioner filters and they are pretty dirty - car at 41,000 miles. I know the manual says to replace at 30,000 under normal conditions. I called the dealership and they said it would be a little over $50 for new filters! Anyone know of a cheaper source?

I live in NYC and I do a lot of driving (already got 50K miles), so I know I need to change mine, but I can't find a DIY on how to get past the glove box or anything. I'd prefer pictures if somebody can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Neither the Auto Zone, Pep Boys, RS Strauss, or any other auto store in my area has them. These arent the regular air filters (for the airbox) that all stores carry. One Honda dealer I went to told me the civic doesnt have those filters...what a dumbass. Another one of the dealers had to order them because they dont carry a high stock of them.

Anyways, I ordered mine on HandA, came out to like $26 shipped for the 2 of them, much better than the $35 the dealers wanted.

They're supposed to be changed more often than 50K miles, but I just keep putting it off like a moron.

I dont know why people got quoted $50 from the dealer, those things are cheap as hell. Pepboys has them, autozone, orielys, napa, everyone has them. The dealer must have told you wrong when they said $50. they are about $7.00-$12.00 each, like falken said.
