Is it Black??? Black paint no matter how well you keep it shaded from the sun or how much wax you put on it will fade quicker than most colors. Lighter colors fade as well but you don't notice it as much, Black paint shows every ding, dent, fade, spot, left over wax, and I live in Florida and its cooking big time down here. I bought a Car Cover from Handa and it was a great investment.

Still though, it shouldn't fade as much as you say in a year.....

Im having the same problem with the paint on the hood of my car, I took it to the dealership and he basically told me to wait and see if it gets any worse. He noted it and is supposed to be contacting the discrict rep. Ill post again when i get an answer.

Humm yeah I keep my car inside as much as possible but yeah Black and Red cars fade pretty quick but yeah a year old they shouldn't be losing the color all ready. Thats good if its under warranty maybe I can get them to fix those marks that my bra left doubt it though they have a disclaimer on the bra.

The paint on my hood is actually fading where i had my bra on.... i noticed it one day when i took my bra off to wash car, when i put my bra on my car i try and keep the area waxed to prevent any unwanted scraching, but i didnt expect to see the paint "fading". it almost looks as if the paint it foggy or had moisture on it... but its under the clearcoat.

That's why a lot of people don't like to use bras... two different shades. It's even worse if you use it during winter (if you live in the snow belt).

Same thing with my hood, yep I have spots on my hood where the paint has faded because of water that got under the bra and got hot. Just curious on what color of car you have? Yeah I had my bra off my car today and I just hate looking at where the paint is messed up just makes me so mad.

Unless you like the way your Bra looks I'd pitch it, but I can see why you would want one though. It keeps the paint from chipping and protects from bugs, but what good is that doing? I mean you want to keep the front clean, but then you can't see it. When you do remove it it still looks bad, so what do you do?

My brother just sold his 94 Integra, which he bought brand new (in 94) , and he put a Bra on it when it was new; now he wishes he never put that thing on. His paint was scratched and rubbed off from the Bra where the straps rubbed against the paint.

Sorry just ramblin, I know this has nothing to do with this post but hey, my 2¢

Yeah living in Arizona it never really rains but the sun is bad. The sand and wind has allready made indents on the side of the car with my full bra but once I move back home to Oregon it rains so much I will probably just leave it off and get a deflector for the top to protect that the bumpers are so cheap they dent with anything so forget it. I hate honda bumpers I would say get metal bumpers or something I could care less I just hate how easy they dent and get chips.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get my hood to look from factory again where I have those crap spots in the paint?

your problem could be two things...

firstly it could be your wax job was wack....
easy fix, take a detailers claybar to the car and see if its wax....

secondly, if it is the paint, take it too a detailer, have them hi speed polish your entire car, they burn of a thin layer of the clear coat and the car will look like new again, immediately apply maguires paint selant and you are set....
