New and wondering something.

New here, bought a 03 civic lx with 93,000 miles and was wondering if this sounds right. So at 65mph my car is at 2700 rpms. That seems high to me considering my Sentra se-r spec v didn’t even tach that high and it was a high geared 2.5. It almost feels like the car needs a 6th gear. Is this normal for these cars. I bought it for commuting purposes.

That sounds about right. It could use a 6th gear I think!

I had a Spec-V at one point. That was a fun car!!!

Ok cool. My Sentra blew up and I had to drive my challenger to the job site and it was costing me a half a tank a day. I’m hoping to see the 38mpg this car has.

Damn!! I sold mine after about 9 months because it kept giving me problems. It was slightly modified when I bought it but the MAF kept going “bad” and I was in college without extra cash and time to try and fix it. It was a fun car but that torque steer was something!!!

Yes the Civic will be much better then the Challenger. It will feel like a turtle but you got those MPG’s!!

But you will be laughing when you go fill up the tank. At the end, the Civic will get you to work and back just like any other car will. I'm sure you don't race your car when going to work or back. And you still have to go by the speed limits regardless whether you're in a Civic or a Ferrari.
I think Corollas have more power but I'm not sure if they give the same gas mileage.
