2002 Civic sedan 1.7l cylinder position sensor
2002 Civic sedan 1.7l cylinder position sensor
Hello,
I'm having an issue that I can't seem to find any info on. I keep getting a CEL code 9, I have been using the paper clip method to read this code. I'm not experiencing any driving performance issues but the code returns after 20 minutes of driving each time its been cleared.
From what Ive read the code indicates an issue with the cylinder position sensor and that the wire to that sensor should be ohm'd out. I cant find any info on where the cylinder position sensor is located on an 02 civic. Everything I read says its located in the distributor but that the 7th generation does not have a distributor.
Does anyone know where this sensor is located?
Thanks

That's probably the cam position sensor.....and most people report very obvious running and startingcomplaints when it has a problem.
Got a real OBD2 code number? That would help nail down the actual fault. Honda quit supporting information on blink codes more than a decade ago.
FWIW the only blink code #9 I saw was for transmission Countershaft speed sensor
