Exhaust manifold gasket, what direction?
97 dx: I'm installing a new honda one-piece exhaust manifold/cat and I have a 1-piece steel honda gasket. Once side is flat and the other side is convex. I read that the flat side goes on the block, but the honda manual doesn't even mention it.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Exhaust manifold gasket, what direction?
Sorry to bump this post, but if the official shop mannual doesn't mention it, I think that it's either way. It doesn't say "front" on it.

Re: Exhaust manifold gasket, what direction?
I'd put the flat side against the head.....but
If the gasket will line up correctly with all the bolt holes and ports in either direction, it really makes no difference which way it is installed.
Flip a coin and install it.
