VTEC solenoid valve

Own a 2005, Honda civic e.x. 1.7l non special, replaced the entire unit for the VTEC solenoid, yet the engine light goes off for a minute, when I push it up to 4rpm on the hiway, I get a stall, the light comes back on. And a misfire feel, or gear changing stall still, any solution?

Re: VTEC solenoid valve

Is there a vtec code on?

Have you taken the head apart any time recently, possibly lost a vtec oil pin?

Re: VTEC solenoid valve

I have done a new head gasket job, and done an oil pan job, both did great, never even had the problems. The problem really occurred after my buddy knocked the ground wire from the battery and sparked it ....then the light came back on and now having this problem permanent. Could it have fried the brain?

Sounds like just a coincidence.
Start at square one and diagnose properly.

Re: VTEC solenoid valve

Thanks,. I need to,. I'm just flustered because I have been working so many long hours and not having proper rest time and having to do this vehicle in timely manner on top of it. Hehe
oh well. Do what ya gotta do.

Also. Bought it from sister who ran it so far down I had to rebuild it with little Honda knowledge.
