Aftermarket injectors any good?
Aftermarket injectors any good?
I have a 98 HX. I just hit 250k mi, and I'm now dealing with my second injector going out in about a year and a half timewise. Is that unusual, or typical? It's definitely a bad injector as it is not making any pulsing noise at all..
I'm thinking of replacing the whole set to be proactive. I've run across a set on eBay... All 4 new... Bosch four hole versions.

Are these a bad idea or a decent alternative? I've read about injector balancing in the past, and I've always thought the concept made a lot of sense.
Does anybody have experience with these plastic body units?
Thank you for any info,
JP

Re: Aftermarket injectors any good?
Assuming it is the proper flow rate and assuming it is an actual "bosch" injector and not a counterfit part they should be fine. The problem is that you only have the sellers word that they are actually a bosch built injector. There is a global problem with poor quality parts getting branded as name brand parts.
As far as plastic bodied injector are concerned. Most fuel injector on port injector engines have gone to plastic bodies. You can get them from denso, keihin, and bosch in recent years as OE on many newer models.
