Misc thoughts:

Code shows up as soon as the new used PCM is installed, does that mean the new used PCM also has problems?
Answer: Unsure..... because the old PCM had weird unusual problems, therefore it may not have been reliable enough to set and show these codes if the problem was already present.

You almost need a known good car to double check your parts on.

Which code does this freeze data go with?

Either code would set at 4000ish RPM?


Test pressure switch.
Contacts are supposed to be closed at rest (engine off, no pressure)
If you have the old one, check it too.
Do you still have the original switch?

Next step might be to monitor what the switch does electrically and see if the dang thing works at all when VTEC is engaged.

I've done this manually with test lights and jumper wires, also manually operated the VTEC system just so I can confirm operations.

Then some oil pressure tests, or more. A decent service manual should have a boatload of tests for all of these VTEC codes.
NEW stands for Never Ever Worked. Clue.

One code is for pressure switch circuit low (voltage), the other code is circuit high (voltage).

I'm wondering if the original switch is still good (at least it was correct for the car) and you have an oil pressure problem, either main pressure or a loss in the valvetrain.

How long have you had this car? Know anything about service history? Got records?

Was there any sludge in the top of the engine when you adjusted the valves?

I have had this car about a week lol. All I know about the service is that it has brand new suspension and control front and rear, new head gasket and was riced out (which I have sense dericed (Trademarked term haha))

I agree, the only codes I had on the old PCM was the heater codes for front and rear and the gas cap code, as soon as I changed it, I got about 10 different codes ranging from a loose CAM shaft position sensor to the rear o2 sensor being bad/ All of them were quickly resolved. Once I took it out to test drive it, I got this code.

Yes I would agree someone was deep in this head, was ranting about that while I was doing it.

However I do not see any sludge. they were extremely clean, however they were probably cleaned when the head gasket was replaced.

I will yank the valve cover off and look for that bolt.
Also I will check the sensor resistance.

Both old and new pressure sensor are.0-.1 ohms (bounced on each, could have been my hands)

Ezone you are a gentleman and a scholar. This thing is running like a top now. It was missing the plug in the head.

All dtc cleared, all new suspension, axels, headlights, stock rims and tire size, stock intake back on, valve lash correct.

Gonna drive it a couple weeks and then it is my daughters 16th bday gift when the day gets here. She is mad because I bought a new toy instead of a car for her lol.

My kids earn their keep, I am a sysadmin by day, but as a family we own and self maintain a 50 acre ranch. All 4 of my daughters are up at 0530, work, go to school, come home, do homework, work again and if there is time after any procrastination, have fun. We told her every dollar in scholarships she got we would put $0.50 towards a car, she is a sophomore and already has $3k so we said screw it and surprise her.
