Adjuster Bolt snapped

The adjuster bolt (power steering pump bracket) for the power steering belt snapped when we were trying to tighten it.

Is the car still drivable (safely)?

I cannot seem to find the part number ... the bolt is #9 in the diagram.

Re: Adjuster Bolt snapped

Remove loose pieces.
Safe enough to drive, if you still have the belt tight enough for the power steering to work.

I'd just replace with a long regular bolt, no real need for a wing on it.

I might have to replace the entire bracket ... its pretty hard to get the snapped bolt out.

Re: Adjuster Bolt snapped

I'd just get the belt tight using a pry bar or whatever then lock it down.
I don't NEED the adjuster bolt to get the belt tight.

I never use the one under the alternator when doing belts, I snug it after I'm done just to make sure it can't fall out.
