Lisle 77080 19mm weighted crank bolt socket
Lisle 77080 19mm weighted crank bolt socket
So I'm gearing up to do a timing belt and water pump service on my 2005 Acura EL and just came across this weighted socket. From what I have seen this socket will knock a crank bolt off like its nothing with an electric or air impact wrench. From the horror stories I have read about people needing 8 feet of leverage and all their body weight crack the bolt loose I would gladly rent an impact and buy this to simplify the job.
Does anyone here have any experience using a weighted socket like this?

I own the same socket (branded Matco) it's incredible. You still need a strong impact gun though.
I tried the Snap-on weighted socket when they first came out, this shop went through about 15 of them...now the last one of these I got sits unused because I use the Matco all the time.
A friend made his own, welded a bunch of steel rings to one of his sockets, did this long before these sockets became popular.
