Front end drivers side noise

Hello, I've got a 2005 Honda Civic DX with 168k miles. I bought the car used @ 160k miles. The car has always made this noise while I have owned it. The noise appears to be located up front on the drivers side. The noise is constant and gets louder the faster I go. The sound is similar to engine rev but is not the engine. The noise occurs if the clutch is in or out and does not appear to be affected by anything other than an increase or decrease in speed. Performance of the car appears to not be affected by the noise. It drives fine at any speed and everything appears to be fine other than this slightly annoying noise. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas about what may be causing the noise.
