no hot heater air on feet, blows fine/hot on panel and defroster

Good evening.

I've had an ongoing problem for a while now. this winter is just cold enough (or I'm getting old enough) where I want to solve this problem.

The heater works fine. Temp gauge is fine. A/C works fine. All is good EXCEPT I can't get any hot air on my feet. When I move the selector for the picture for "floor", no warm air comes out down there IN THAT POSITION ONLY. Moving the selector to panel or defrost, it's fine.

I'm guessing something "plugged" in the duct work, but I'm not getting any funny smells (e.g., dead mouse, etc.). Or perhaps there is an actuator on a "door" within the duct work. Any clues where to look for this would be great.

Honda Civic 2005 Hybrid, Manual Transmission

thank you, mark

Have you stuck your hands down there to verify no air flow?

The reason I ask is this has been one common complaint with many of the cars...... the air that does come out down there kinda doesn't blow anywhere near your feet at all. IIRC the vent might be aimed to blow at or under your knee, definitely not blowing at your feet.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, there is no air flow. It's not cold or warm or anything. just no flow.

Sounds like you will need to locate the servo and linkage for the mode doors, see if the link/cam for the floor ducts is no longer moving when the servo goes through its travel.
