hey guys i am looking at an 04 si automatic. it has a few problems. code reader brings up P0134 (o2 sensor) it has a leak in the resonator he says(its loud lol) p2646 (really worried about this one did some research) and p1457 (also did research could be a few things) . this car has 170km(105mile) on it.it hits "rev limiter at 4000rpm which i think is related to the switch code) and i am getting ready to make an offer of $900 CDN, it is in great shape and has new breaks all around but i am a little worried about this car. any help.advice much appreciated. also hes not sure if timing belt has been done. I am not scared of work but looking into this first. i checked oil it seemed ok.
thanks in advance

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

IS the oil very low, not touching the dipstick?
Was the SI produced with an automatic trans?

oil is fine. what would you guys think about the transmission. these cars are known for problems? at 177 would it have happened already if it was going to? first thing I would do is change fluid.

If it's only got 105,000 (miles USA) I'd expect it to go another 100-150,000+ miles..... If you have no idea about service history on the trans or if the fluid looks old, I'd strongly suggest change fluid 3x right away then regular fluid changes every 30k or more often.
Use Hondas DW-1 fluid, it's the current approved ATF and it's synthetic.
I change trans fluid in my personal and family Hondas with every other oil change, been doing this ever since I started working at this dealership.

In the USA the non-VTEC would have the cat built into the manifold, and the VTEC engine has the cat located further downstream under the car.
