need help asap
I just bought a 2001 Honda civic ex and the previous owner said it didn't have a check engine light on so I take it for emissions and the light was on. They said it was both o2 sensors and a coolant sensor. I bought then and replaced them yesterday. I heard that I was supposed to run the car until the computer is calibrated. I ran it for 30 miles and took it to autozone. The o2 sensors that I just replaced came back as a potential problem. I'm not not sure if I should keep running my car or if I should buy a new catalytic converter? Help anyone?

It takes up to 100 miles for the ECU to completely relearn everything. You should do an "idle relearn" just to be certain. Check the bottom of the first post here:

Do you still have the old parts?
I heard that I was supposed to run the car until the computer is calibrated.
You can sit in the car, turn the key on (do not start the engine) and after about 20 seconds the check engine light will flash a few times if the monitors have not completed. (more driving needed)
Once you can do this and NOT have the light flash, that means the monitors finally completed ---and if the CEL is still off while driving you can go take the test.
I ran it for 30 miles and took it to autozone. The o2 sensors that I just replaced came back as a potential problem.

What is an "idle return?" Just leaving the car on without driving it?
