'01 Civic 2 dr standard, Starting Issue
Hi, new to the site, would really appreciate a hand! Recently my 2001 civic 2 dr has been having some starting issues. Basically heres what happens...
Put the key in the ignition, and turn it to get the Daytime running lights and radio on.
Go to crank it over and the whole car shuts down, all lights turn off
If I try to re-insert the key, nothing happens, no green light key or anything.
To remedy this, I take the negative terminal off the battery and then put it back on, get in the car and starts up no problem.
This occurs. Every. Single. Time. I start the car.
Not a starter or fuel pump issue, seems to me to be electrical? Any help would be appreciated!

Bad connections between a battery post and whatever the cable connects to. Could be the cable clamp, could be between wire and clamp, could be where the cable attaches at the opposite end.
Could be the positive cable. Could be the ground cable. Could be corrosion (all connections should be clean shiny metal).
Could be inside the battery itself.
Voltage drop test to pinpoint the problem area (Google it).
Have someone make it act up while you look for spark, feel for heat, wiggle cables.
