squeeky clutch pedal

Today my clutch pedal started to squeek. It only makes squeeking noise when I release clutch pedal. Do i need some lubrication? or will it eventually go away? My car is a 2k1 EX with 21,xxx miles.

check the TSBs There is one in there for this exact issue. Go back to the dealer and make them fix it.

Some simple lubing may help get rid of it. Mine was squeaking slightly, but I lubed one of the clutch components and it went away. The sound was coming from a clutch assembly component located in front of the engine near the bottom, and covered by a rubber boot. Peel back the rubber boot and lube the parts underneath. Best way to find the sound is to have someone pump the clutch while you're looking in the engine bay... you'll be able to see and hear the moving part.

Before you do anything.. do this... take a look at the clutch pedal( i mean stick your head in and check) see a lil rubber boot thingy connected to the top of the clutch pedal? make sure it is not folded or like the ridges are not overlapped.... that is one problem for the squeking..

My friend always ask me where's teh squeak comming from, but i dun tell him..... i do fix it after he's not around.. i like seeing him get irritated

sometime when you clutch down to hard and pump it fast the rubber boot doesn't get nuff time to flex back into the regular shape

In your engine compartment, in front of your engine, waay down near the bottom, that's where part of the clutch mechanism is on our cars. Like I said before, you need someone to pump your clutch while you're looking down into that area in front of your engine. That way, you can see and hear the moving clutch parts... Otherwise, it's kinda difficult for me to show you where that part is by words alone.

edit: best thing to do at this point is to have the dealer take a look at it. It'll probably take them less than 10 minutes to lube the right part for you.

Mine did the same thing for a while. Especially on rainy or humid
days. But it hasn't done that for a long time.

Take it to honda and tell them to replace the master cylinder on the clutch. your sound would be gone. I had the same problem.

I don't know about replacing the whole cylinder... not sure how many dealers would do all that for you just for some squeaking. Some lube is probably all you need.

My clutch makes a little noise but its more of a clicking noise than a squeeking one. My 93 accord used to do the same thing and the dealer would lube the 'return spring' I think they called it. I used to get it done about once a year. They never charged me for it though. Not sure if this is the same problem, but most likely it is.

My car has been to the dealership 4x to fix the clutch squeek. One of those times they replaced the transmission too and that seemed to take care of the clutch squeek ever since. I had tranny probs too, maybe the clutch squeek is a sign of what is to come. They basically lubed the clutch pedal, said there isn't much else they could have done.

Mine was doing that, took it to the dealer, they lubed it, two days later it was squeaking again. I'll be taking it back in very soon.

i had the same problem, i brought it to the dealer twice, they said they lubricated it and it still squeaked. so i got really pissed and one day it squeaked really loud and i took it there and the tech told me to release the clutch pedal and he said that something was squeaking from my exhaust when i release the clutch, so i gotta bring my car back to the dealer in 2 weeks for them to look at it.

Same problem and the service guy told me he fixed it but it's still there. Quite blatently obvious that it wasn't worked on.
