Confused

To start I have an '04 Honda Civic EX and my battery light was on so I went and diagnosed it and found out that my battery and alternator were bad. So I changed them both out and now the check engine light and the maintence required light is on I've been trying to find an answer for this but have yet to. I tried to get the code read on it but they were not able to do it but I'm going to try and go somewhere else to get it read. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be?

Re: Confused

Who is "they" and why couldn't they get a code?! You can get a free reading at most auto parts shops.

Re: Confused

The "maint req'd" light is supposed to be reset by hand every time the oil is changed. See your owners manual.

What's the code for the check engine light?
No communication with a scanner?
Did someone leave the alternator mounting bolts loose? That will RUIN the PCM.

Oh yeah, that. That light confused me the first time I saw it too.
