Catalytic Converter Code
02 civic, 270,000 miles. I've had the p0420 code for about three years. I had a mechanic tell me in the past to ignore it. Now my mileage is dropping, there seems to be a loss of power. I've replaced plugs and air filter.
I'm thinking about replacing the cat and need comments on aftermarket vs oem. My goal is to get the engine light off after all these years. There is no vehicle inspection in my county. I've seen comments that the aftermarket cats don't fit right or need adapters but the oem is $900. What is the best solution?
