3500 rev limit
3500 rev limit
Anyone know why my car seems like it has a 3500 rev limit under load while driving? Thought it was a trans issue but now I'm thinking electrical. It is fine if u don't give it a lot of throttle. But if u do it rev limits in all gears...

Well duh, it's gonna set codes like that. You have to solve the problem, not disconnect stuff.
P1753: TCC sol valve circuit. This is an electrical problem. Unplugged?
P1298, replace the ELD. There's a bulletin on this.
P1457, EVAP leak, canister system. Need diag.
P0141, rear O2 heater circuit. Probably bad sensor, needs checked.

I was told by a very experienced import mech to disconnect the v tec solenoid to see if the studdering goes away... If it's unplugged, he told me, v tech should not try to kick on/off. Since then I think I realized it's not the actual v tech making the surging but a rev limit... Do these cars have this as safety if v tec fails??? I think u helped me realize I'm thinking too far into it and helped me answer my own question...
Tcc was from when I tested all trans solenoids.. Forgot to reconnect...
Not worried about other codes right now... I'll take off and test v tec solenoid and check the screen to see if it's clogged...
Ahhhhhh I just rembered when I changed valve cover gasket the engine was very sludgy... I used some motor medic motor flush... Probably dislodged junk and plugged it maybe?

Problem resolved. One of the v tec solenoid connectors was not connected Plus the screen was pretty full of junk from the oil.. Also I had added the incorrect oil weight (20w50) To top off when it was low... Motor flush, oil change w 5w20, cleaned screen, connected both electrical connectors , and D/C battery.. Runs great!
