Question 2002 Civic Ferio Vi-RS Automatic - D Light flashing and other problems

2002 Civic Vi-RS Automatic: My car's D light flashes (has been doing so since I bought it) and recently it has been having problems. Sometimes when I put the car from Park to Drive the car seems to shudder and it sounds like it is about to stall. Similarly, on occasion when I stop whilst driving, the car will shudder forward then stop repeatedly.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome, New Zealander!
I see you've posted this question on at least one other forum too.

The flashing D light means the computer found a problem with the transmission system (the same way a check engine light is used).

Have the codes inspected to see what the computer thinks is wrong, then diagnose accordingly.

Based on your description of the symptoms, I'll take a wild guess that it's an internal trans problem and it's time for an overhaul or replacement.
