My little horror story

This all started about a month and a half to two months ago.

I started to hear a knocking noise coming from the from drivers side of my car when I turned the wheel and went over small bumps. I believed there was something wrong with the struts so I took it into the dealership and told them something was wrong with my front struts. They took a look at it and and tell me I have a noisy spring. They have to order the part so I waited a couple days and had to bring the car back in. They replace the spring test it out and nothing changed. So they tell me they have to talk to some other Honda tech with an office job and they call me back when they figure out what is wrong.

About a week goes by and they give me a call and tell me they think there might be something wrong with my struts. Go figure I tell them with some remarks about how I was right in the first place. So they tell me the part is on back order and I'll have to wait. Another week or so goes by and I finally get to bring my car in to get fixed, right? Wrong! They give me a call at work and tell me they ordered the wrong part and I'm going to have to wait.

I'll spare you some repatition but in all, they order the wrong part THREE TIMES!!! When I brought my car in the last time which was 3 days ago, I demanded a loaner car for free. They said okay and I requested the S2000 but for some reason I got a Saturn. This is when I get call saying they order the wrong part for the 3rd time. The mechanic assured me that this was the right part because the opened the box and inspected the part before I got there. So I tell them I'm keeping the loaner till they fix my car and I'm not refilling any of the gas I used. Now today while I was a work there was a message left saying my car was done and I could pick it up. So tomorrow I get to pick up my car that is supposedly fixed.

Would you be worried if you were me?

Hm...I would definitely double check the car right on the site, and test drive around the dealer before leaving...in case anything goes wrong or worst yet, they install the wrong struts.
Anyways, did you get to keep the Saturn or S2000? Also your sig said you got a 2001 Si...is that the new one (2002) or the older one (2000)? Because in US, there is no 2001 Civic Si.

Yup, they ordered the wrong part for me too... but it only happened once. Apparently, if you have ABS, you need a different strut from non-ABS cars. And they ordered the non-ABS strut for me the first time. May have been what happened to you.

Were you serious about getting the s2000 as a loaner?

I have the identical problem! Your story sounds just like mine. Almost perfect. We took the same steps and everything. Except I am ahead of you. They replaced my strut and I still have the noise! I have like a brand-new front end and still the same noise. I am almost ready to give up! I have taken my car in around 15+ times! I'm pissed and they know it. They send me gift certificates in the mail all the time! I don't know if you guys get a call everytime you take your car asking you to give them a good report on a form Honda sends out of course I tell them there is no way I can do that!

WOW! I feel for you guys. I had it all with my 7 th Gen Civic.

It seems like problems are either getting worse and new problems are developing.

haha same thing here but with my door panels. They started getting these redish blothes all over them that you could only see when the sun shines directly on them. I waited a month for the panels to come in, bring my car down leave it there all afternoon only to get a call saying they only did one door because the other was on critical backorder and they received two passenger doors. If this is any indicator of the service i'll receive I fear the day I have a warrenty issue that makes the car undrivable.
