Problems with starting the car?

Hi, I picked up a 2001 honda civic ex as my first car, and it's a manual transmission. The 2nd day I got it, my friend wanted to teach me how to drive smoother, so we went to my high school parking lot at around midnight, and he taught me the catch point and stuff. We practiced for around 15 minutes, and then I stalled once.

Anyways, before I stalled, I was trying to get the car moving with JUST the clutch, and I tried to find the catch point faster and faster every time, and I accidentally stalled once (That was the only time I stalled on that car). After I stalled, I couldn't get the car to start cause the battery was dead. The engine cranked for like 0.5 seconds and then all the lights died, and even the car alarm didn't work. So we pushed it into a parking spot and he gave me a ride home. I figured the battery was completely dead. Maybe a shortage?

The next day, I got it towed to a mechanic, my timing belt had 109K miles on it, so I got that replaced along with the water pump and the battery.

Took him a day or two to fix it all, and I got it back today. Everything was fine, except the symptoms from before are coming back again. My friend went with me to my school's parking lot again and we practiced taking off, rev matching, and uphill starting and I got all of it. So, after practicing for around 30 minutes, I parked my car and he took me for a ride up the mountains in his m3. We went for around 10-15 minutes, and when we came back, he told me to try to master downshifting rev matching.

I tried to start the car, and the engine wouldn't even crank, so I released the clutch, pushed it all the way down (I double checked), and tried to start it, but nothing. At this point, I was thinking "deja vu", and I flashed the headlights for a second, and they turned on so I knew there was some power left in it, so I took the keys out and waited 20 seconds and tried to start the engine again and it barely started.

If the problem from before taking it to the mechanic persisted, then it rules out the battery. What can possibly be causing this? What should I check/look out for? Btw it was around 60 degrees Fahrenheit tonight when we practiced in the parking lot when I had the starting issue.

Did you try a jump start? Go back to the mechanic that put the battery in. Explain what's going on and have them check it out.
