new engine put in, overheating issues
I blew the engine in my 2003 honda civic so i replaced the block. Everything is now put together and the car runs fine. But when i took it for a test drive the temp gauge shot right up to high in less then a minute. I was wondering what you guys think could cause this, im fairly sure i didnt miss any plugs except for one coming off the a/c pump which i cant find where it goes.im fairly sure it isnt the head gasket i cant find coolant in the oil its blowing hot air And its a new gasket . Im thinking it could be a bad water pump or something else idk any help would be great

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

First thought: Something electrical is lying, or the water pump has no impeller (or it is slipping on the shaft).
A good wire diagram can be your best friend. So can a scanner.
