Need some help. Have a 2002 civic 1.7 the problem that i am having is the battery light is flickering off on. It does this till the rad fan comes on (car warms up) then it stops flickering and all is good again. I took the alternator out and got it tested and it's good and running at 70 amps. Got battery tested and it's good as well. Cleaned all the battery clamps and ground wires and it still flickers till rad fan kicks on. I can't figure out the problem I almost don't wanna drive it. the belt is tight for alternator as well. The car had ac before, i got it and they bypassed the ac with a shorter belt(missing clutch assembly for ac compressor). . Any one with any advice would be helpful before i decide to just burn it.

Just played with it again and like usaul until cars rad fans kick in i lose headlights and all interior lights and gauges while battery light flashes iradically then rad fan comes on and the car operates perfectly and no flicker.

have the system tested ...as in everything in the car when it is exhibiting the symptoms..I would buy a cheep volt meter ( 6$ at harbor freight ) and see what voltage is at the battery while flickering and what voltage is there when the fan kicks on.
you could just simply have a bad gauge .

sorry about that ..I missed the all lights go out part ..hmmm maybe a main relay is somehow kicked off until your fan kicks in ..doesn't make much sense though ,.

I still stick with have it tested while that stuff is going on ,
