ok so i have a 2005 civic ex coupe, purchased a year ago (car had stock radio). headlights flickered continuously not very noticeable. 2 weeks later i had a new radio and sub woofers installed. when bass goes off headlights dim and radio dims. PRESENT DAY, even if music isn't playing at all, lights still flicker continuously and more noticeable. the only time the lights don't flicker is when i put it in drive but don't take my foot of the brake. once i take my foot off the brake, headlights and radio start dimming. i had autozone test battery and alternator. both passed. SOMEONE HELP.

your alternator is fried....

you need to have a BENCH TEST done on the alternator, this means removing it from the vehicle....you are probably going to fry another alternator fairly fast, these cars dont seem to like aftermarket systems that draw alot of power, good luck

Thanks for the info mike, youre sure about this? Even if the alternator passes the test?
