Well like the title this is weird. Just put a good used engine in my 01 lx that i snagged with a blown motor. Upon trying to start it it didn't want to fire, acted like a ect sensor pegged to -40. I connected mt generic code reader i keep lying around home and checked for codes. There were no codes but it fired up while the code reader was still connected. Ran it to operating temp and verified stat and fan operation-ok. Left it sit overnight and came home from work today and again, same starting problem. Once again i connect the reader to check codes and there are none but it starts and runs fine. The more i played with it the more i realize it seems to want the reader on it to start cold or warm. NEVER seen this before, anyone else?

Never mind, found my stupid mistake. Went back to the basics, hunting grounds and low and behold i left the ground above the t-stat loose. That's what happens when your working at home and your wife calls you for dinner......NOW.
