Rough Startup
Rough Startup
hello I have a 2004 civic lx and for a couple weeks now its been starting up rough and there is a CEL. The codes say that there are multiple cylinder misfires, atleast thats what autozone told me. The problem is when I start up it makes the sound as if its going to stall (its automatic), but it only does this for 10-15 sec then it runs fine. I checked all the coils and they are all firing. So it seems on startup one of the coils are not firing but then goes back to normal but im not sure. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for any help

Re: Rough Startup
Got specific code numbers?
Is it losing coolant?
Got specific details on when it misses, which cylinder(s) it is missing on, how long it does it for, does it clear up and run right after a while?
Coils aren't a big problem with those.
A misfire could be caused by any of at least 20 different things.
Maybe some real diagnosis is in order for you.
This should be easy for a professional with real troubleshooting skills.

Re: Rough Startup
Thanks for the response. I pulled the plugs and 3/4 of them were burnt out even though i replaced them before winter. So I went and got some plugs from honda and its running fine now. I got the plugs from autozone and they were nice ones can't remember the brand though.
