2001 honda civic D17 Turbo?

So I own a 2001 honda civic ex with the D17 1.7 V-Tech engine in it and I was wondering if any of you have tried turbos in similar cars and how it worked and how much boost you can push safely to ensure the longevity of the engine before I go boosting my car. I would like to keep it as stock as possible but if it will hurt my car then what is the best motor to swap?

Read this:

There is info on 7 gen turbo setup and people who have successfully and correctly done a turbo on a D17 and kept reliability. For a swap you would do a k20 out of an RSX. Swap is still the most reliable but it's only going to be if you do it right.

There's plenty of information here on our forum, too. This used to be a 7thgen-based forum, so many people have tried going boost. Most I've heard was this dude we used to have, Andy, running 31psi and close to 500WHP on a D17

I ran turbo'd for a year and a half. Do a lot of research and don't just try and go for the cheapest everything. Do everything right, but feel free to shop for best prices for the proper components.
